Help us plan for this weekends camping by registering now.

Camping

Campsite:
We’ll be camping at Sunset Park which is a private campground adjacent to Hanging Rock State Park. This is roughly a 45 minute drive from Winston-Salem. Click Here for a google map.

Weather:
Weather for our trip will be chilly but mostly clear, only a 10% chance of rain. Low’s for Friday and Saturday night get down to 30 degrees. We’ll have the fire going but please do plan to layer accordingly to stay warm.

Meals:
Meals will be provided by the pack in camp. Standard Pack 910 camping menu with a few extra Dutch Oven surprises. You may want to bring a few trail ready snacks for our hike on Saturday as well.

Remember, if you need camping equipment, just let us know and we’ll try to connect you with the right resources.

Activities

  • Animals In Nature: We will have a presentation by the Stokes and Forsyth County Wildlife Officers (Game Wardens) on animals in nature at the campsite.
  • Plants in Nature: We will then drive over to Hanging Rock State Park for a presentation and hike with Park Rangers on trees and plants in nature.
  • In camp: There is a fishing pond at the campsite if anyone wants to fish. Otherwise, I’m sure the scouts will entertain themselves as always.
