March 6-8, 2020 (Fri-Sun)
Patriots Point Naval History Museum
Charleston, SC

Join us for a special camping opportunity on the USS Yorktown, part of the Patriots Point Naval History Museum outside Charleston, SC. There’s lots of important info here, and registrations must be received by Tuesday, Jan 14, 2020, at 8:00 PM. Note: Space is limited so get your registration in as soon as possible.

What’s it all about?

We’ll sleep on board the Yorktown in former sailors’ quarters (bunks), so no tents are necessary; we’ll send a packing list closer to the trip date. Cost includes admission to the full museum, which includes the aircraft carrier, a destroyer, and a submarine, in addition to a special activity on Saturday morning (such as a boat ride to Fort Sumter).

Note that women and girls will be housed in a different section of the ship (a typically nicer section also). Due to space constraints, dad’s and daughters will not have the ability to bunk in the same area.

The ship’s original bunks require some climbing and a decent sense of humor.

Cost:

The trip cost is $100 per participant (scout or adult), which includes Saturday meals and Sunday breakfast (Friday dinner is on your own). We must provide Patriots Point with numbers and payment in advance, so we’re asking for advance registration for this event.

Pack 910 is committed to creating opportunities for every scout. If you need financial assistance to make this trip possible, please connect with me before the registration deadline. This is a demanding trip, but we don’t want money to be the obstacle.

Registration:

We always try to be flexible, but for this trip, we have to work with the rules of Patriots Point, which are firm because of the complex logistics of having a few hundred people spending the night on a WWII aircraft carrier. For that reason we must set a firm registration deadline of January 14th.

Also, our reservation is for up to 30 participants, but the ship is full that weekend, so when we hit that number, we’ll have to go to a waiting list. Given that limitation, please get your registration in ASAP.

Invoicing: Invoices will be sent soon after we receive your online registration. Note that your registration is not complete until your invoice has been paid. Also, refunds are only available if we are able to fill you spot with someone from the waiting list.
