We had the final Pack meeting of the year following a VERY FUN Pinewood Derby! Here’s what to expect as we enter the Spring season.

Spring Into Scouting!
The above photo was from the last Pack 910 camping trip at Raven Knob, taken in October. We can’t wait to go back! This is the “last call” for registrations for our Spring Into Scouting at Raven Knob Scout Reservation, April 1 – 3.
It’s a great introduction to the Scout Reservation – which is one of the finest in the entire southeast. All meals will be provided in camp courtesy of Outdoorsman, Lee Danhauer. We will have Adirondacks at the site and just as in the above picture, some campers will pitch tents too. It’s great to have both options! It’s an easy camping trip and for families who are new to the Pack, we highly recommend this trip as a great way to start your camping adventures with Pack 910! It’s also fine to just come for the day on Saturday, or to spend one night only at the Campground!
We need all registrations in by this weekend, Sunday March 27 by 5:00 pm. |

The Blue and Gold Banquet is scheduled for April 24 from 4 pm to 6 pm at St. Paul’s Church. We’ve not been able to host this banquet these last two years so expect this year’s banquet to be extra special. This event is the culmination of your scout’s year of hard work towards completing their rank advancement. Please make plans to attend and invite family members with you. There is a nominal $5 per person fee which includes a catered dinner provided by the Church, and we will be in our usual meeting location in the Colhoun Room. For our planning purposes, please register for this event using the link below. Registration will remain open until about 10 days prior to the event. |

At our March 13 Pack meeting, Scoutmaster Dyer provided some guidance on scout uniforms. Does your scout still need a class A uniform? “Class A” is the button down shirt for Tiger and above dens. Arrow of Light Scouts can wear blue or khaki, all others are blue. Remember, we run a uniform closet for the district and can make gently used uniforms available to you at no cost. If interested, let me know and we can coordinate with you. Additionally, you can purchase uniforms at the Scout Store on Silas Creek. Here is a link to a guide with information about scout uniforms. Note that at our Pack we’ve not emphasized pants or the rank-specific clasp, the main things is the shirt and the neckerchief. |

Camping right on the New River Trail, this is a relaxed and very family friendly camping trip in Galax, VA. An easy drive from Winston, it’s a fun trip and we do an easy, slow-paced bike ride too. |
|
Be sure to get Resident Camp at Raven Knob on your calendar now – your scout will create lasting memories and work on rank advancement too. If you can’t attend the whole time, you still have the option of attending some of the days.
Still have questions about Camping?
We would be glad to hear from you. We would also like to know how we can help make your camping experience successful and welcome suggestions. Please contact Lee Danhauer or me anytime.
