Den Meeting Recaps from September 25
Lion Rank (Kindergarten)
The Lions all earned their first adventure loop this week! They completed the Lion’s Honor adventure by completing the following requirements:
- Show the Cub Scout sign. Tell what it means.
- Repeat the Cub Scout motto. Tell what it means.
- Show the Cub Scout salute. Tell what it means.
- Show teamwork and good sportsmanship by playing a game with your den.
- Participate in an outing.
Lions is a great introduction to Cub Scouts and we have plenty of room for more friends! Feel free to promote our program to other families as it is never too late to get started and easy to catch up!
All ranks require you to go through the How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide with your scout. Please cover this material at your discretion and let your Den Leader know when complete.
Tiger Rank (First Grade)
The Tigers worked on the Games Tigers play adventure this week. They completed the following requirements. If you missed the meeting, you can complete these items at home and let your Den Leader know.
- Play two initiative or team-building games with the members of your den.
- Listen carefully to your leader while the rules are being explained, and follow directions when playing.
- At the end of the game, talk with the leader about what you learned when you played the game. Tell how you helped the den by playing your part.
- Make up a game with the members of your den, and play it with den members. After playing the game, talk with your den about the experience.
In order to earn this belt loop, Tigers must bring a nutritious snack to the next meeting (10/2) and share why they picked it and what makes it a good snack choice.

Wolf Rank (Second Grade)
The Wolves completed the Call of the Wild adventure this week. They completed the following requirements. If you missed the meeting, you can complete these items at home and let your Den Leader know.
- With your family or den, make a list of possible weather changes that could happen during your outing according to the time of year you are outside. Tell how you will be prepared for each one.
- Do the following:
- Recite the Outdoor Code with your leader.
- Recite the Leave No Trace Principles for Kids with your leader. Talk about how these principles support the Outdoor Code.
- After your outdoor activity or campout, list the ways you demonstrated being careful with fire or other dangers.
- Show or demonstrate what to do:
- In case of a natural disaster such as an earthquake or flood.
- To keep from spreading your germs.
- Show how to tie an overhand knot and a square knot.

Bear Rank (Third Grade)
The Bears worked on the Marble Madness adventure this week. They completed the following requirements. If you missed the meeting, you can complete these items at home and let your Den Leader know.
- Discuss with your family or den the history of marbles, such as where and when the game began. Talk about the different sizes of marbles and what they are made of and used for.
- Learn about three different marble games, and learn to play one of them. Learn how to keep score. Learn and follow the rules of the game. Play the game with your family, friends, or your den.
- Learn four or five words that are used when talking about marbles. Tell what each of the words means and how it relates to playing marbles. Share this information with your den.
In order to earn this belt loop, Bears must create a game using marbles, and design rules for playing the game. Be prepared to share the game you created with your den at the next meeting (10/2).

Webelo and AOL Den’s (Fourth & Fifth Grades)
The Webelo Dens worked on the Stronger, Faster, Higher adventure this week and made great progress!
