Scouting for Food What a great success! Especially given the cold and rainy conditions this past Sunday, we were very proud of our scouts going around the neighborhood to collect the bags of contributions. Thank you also to so many of you who donated food in addition.
I took zero pics at the event, so busy was I running the race computer! Which task certainly kept me nimble on Saturday. Thanks to all the moms and dads who did so many things to help that race be successful!
Fastest overall Car: Theo Osswald
Second Fastest: Markus Osswald
Third: Owen Zeller
And close behind Owen was Bryson Long! We had a LOT of fast cars this year! David Amigone’s “guitar” was the best overall design, followed by Charlie Tuxhorn’s “pencil”, and Michael Lobb’s “shark”. Every design was unique and the scouts are to be commended on their designs, efforts, and excellent sportsmanship!
We have certificates for each of the den races which will be distributed at the next Pack meeting in March.
Scout Sunday at St. Paul’s, February 19
We have five families who will represent Pack 910 at the Sunday worship service this weekend! It’s a nice opportunity for the scouts to help the ushers, and for scouting to be highlighted as part of the ministry of St. Paul’s.
Camping at Raven Knob A repeat from last week, (with the registration links now FIXED!), registration is open for the Spring-Into-Scouting at Camp Raven Knob. This weekend trip is a GREAT introduction to Camp Raven Knob for your family. Registration is now open for this trip, taking place March 31 – April 2 at Camp Raven Knob (just one hour from Winston-Salem. Register here for Spring-Into-Scouting.
Upcoming events in February and March
Two items to bring your attention to. In the next few weeks, the Pack will re-charter as we do every year. This is the time during which we will invoice you for your scout(s) for the upcoming year. Dues remain at $175 and can be paid online, or by check if you prefer. Watch for those invoices a little later this month.
Secondly, make plans to attend the Blue and Gold Banquet as a family on March 19. It runs from approximately 4pm to 6pm and details will be coming out soon. It’s a very special event for the scouts and for all of our families as we celebrate the year and recognize the growth of our scouts as they advance in rank. It’s also a nice event to invite extended family members to join us for. We will include an early dinner and there will be a nominal fee to attend. Expect to see an email coming out later this month with registration details.
Yours in Scouting,
Daniel Lobb
