Please Read: Pinewood Derby additional notes
In addition to the below note sent out earlier this week, please be advised of the following:

  1. Scouts should dress in Class A (button down shirt). Class B is also acceptable.
  2. There will be a group photo and den photos taken Saturday morning before the race begins.
  3. Please help me to help the scouts have one donut per person 🙂 A scout is courteous and makes sure there are enough for all!!
Just Announced; a Pack Committee Meeting.
For all available and interested parents, there will be a Pack committee meeting this coming Sunday, February 25 at 3:30 pm in the Colhoun Room. The agenda for this one-hour meeting includes a review of what we accomplished this past year, and an overview of the scouting year ahead (2024/25). If you have ideas about how to improve the scouting experience we offer to families, we invite you to attend this Sunday.

BSA Dues.
We have been notified that the “dues invoice” from BSA National has been delayed. It is expected that you will receive an invoice later this week. We will pass along any additional updates as we know them.

Pinewood Derby.
THIS FRIDAY NIGHT is the check-in for the Pinewood Derby! Please plan to have your child’s car turned in between 4:30 and 5:30 pm at St. Paul’s in the Colhoun Room. (If you need to be later than that, please text me to make arrangements, 336-413-3937). Cars will be weighed to ensure they do not exceed 5 ounces, and that the car does not exceed maximum measurements. Once checked-in the car will be impounded overnight until the race.

Please plan to arrive Saturday morning at 9 am for the Pinewood Derby. The activities will last most of the morning, and for those who can stay to help clean up when the race if finished, many hands will make light work!

Remember, the Pinewood Derby experience is about having fun, learning sportsmanship, friendly competition, and cheering one another on. Scouts will be invited to cast their vote in the design contest, and the cars will race each other more than once, with prizes awarded for fastest cars by den, fastest cars overall, and best designs by peer vote. Donuts and coffee are part of the tradition too, and extended family is invited to attend! Look forward to seeing you this weekend.

Looking ahead…
Those who have registered for the Spring Raven Knob Campout can expect to receive an invoice later this week for that event. Similarly, those registered for the Carolina Beach campout can expect to be invoiced next week. We are finalizing the rosters for both of those trips and will confirm your registration by way of sending an electronic invoice to you.

We have one more official Pack meeting scheduled for Sunday March 3, and then our Blue and Gold Banquet is March 17. The banquet is planned for 4:00 until 6:00 pm. Blue and Gold is a special event in which scouts receive their rank advancements and celebrate all they’ve accomplished in the past year!
