Arrow of Light Scouts visit the Winston-Salem City Council

Thanks to Den Leader Wharton, the Arrow of Light scouts visited City Hall yesterday evening. They met with Councilman Jeff MacIntosh, who talked with the scouts around the council table in the Committee Room about his work as a representative, the types of meetings the City Council members participate in, and the elections process.

After their individual meeting, the scouts were introduced in the Council Chamber by Mayor Joines and they led the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of the meeting. Visit the City Council’s video website, and then choose “Pledge of Allegiance” from the index on the lower left to see the scouts in action.

The visit—a great opportunity to learn more about how the community works—also fulfilled part of the requirements for the Arrow of Light award.
