| Pinewood Derby Workshop This Weekend!
 The Mixxer is an amazing makerspace – cool concept taking root in Winston. This is a big deal for our scouts and will give them a way to make a car like no other! Staff from the Mixxer will be on site to help us use the tools safely, and they’ve got some pretty incredible tools! The Pack is paying for use of the space and providing it at no cost to Pack families.
To aid with efficiency, we will split into two groups on Sunday:
Bears and Webelos: arrive at 2:45 pm
Lions, Tigers, Wolves: arrive at 3:45 pm
**For families with scouts in multiple dens, just pick a time
When: Sunday 1/7 from 2:45 to 5:00 pm

Expect: To receive a Pinewood Derby Kit! It contains the wood block, four wheels, and four axles. NOTE: the wheels and axles are easy to lose so put them in a parent pocket once the kit is open. The kit also contains stickers with numbers which your scout does not need to use, but can if they choose.
Important: For everyone in the building, you must have a completed waiver. Please print and complete a child waiver for every child, and an adult waiver for every adult. Please bring signed waivers with you.
How else to prepare? Design your car in advance so you come ready to get to work on it! Alan Shelton at the Mixer provided two resources you can use:
- This is a BLANK TEMPLATE that is the same dimensions as the kit you’ll receive. The recommendation is to print it out and sketch your car right on the paper. You can glue it onto the car when you arrive and be ready to cut!
- This template has TONS of pre-sketched ideas! Print out anything that your scout wants to use but NOTE – your car must adhere to the length and width guidelines listed here. Some of the designs on this template might not fit so choose wisely.

Can’t make it on Sunday? No problem. Pick up a kit at the next Pack meeting on Sunday, January 28 or by arrangement with me or Chris at another time. The Pinewood Derby will take place the morning of Saturday, February 24 from 9 am until 11 am or finished, at St. Paul’s. Invite family and siblings to attend!
