Have you registered yet? Registration is due today so raise your hand and be counted by registering here!

This popular first trip of the Scouting Year takes place this weekend. You will get wet, you will find gemstones, and you will have a great time! This is a great way to begin your Scouting experience or to make new friends with folks who are just getting started.

We’ll meet this Saturday at 7:45 AM at St Paul’s to caravan/carpool, or you can meet us at the Emerald Hollow Mine in Hiddenite at 9:00 AM.

The Pack covers the $14 cost for each Scout and the Pack provides lunch. Any siblings attending will need to cover their costs. (There are also “guaranteed find” buckets available for purchase and other souvenirs in the sluiceway.) Mining can be dirty work, so bring very old clothes, a towel, and a change of clothes and shoes for the ride home. Water shoes are great for the creek-bed mining part of the day.

We should be all wrapped up at the mine around 1:00 PM and it’s roughly a one-hour car ride back to Winston.

Please simply fill in and submit the quick form below to let Cubmaster Danhauer know you’re coming.
