Scouting for Food THIS SUNDAY

Gather with Pack 910 this Sunday at 3:30 pm for our community service project, Scouting for Food.

Scouting for Food is this Sunday

This is an important community service project for Pack 910. All ranks need to participate in community service for their advancement. Here’s what to expect:

  • Scouting for Food takes place in two parts – this Sunday and Sunday February 13.
  • Part 1 – gather at St. Paul’s this Sunday, Feb 6 at 3:30 pm.
  • Be dressed appropriately – currently we’ve got some winter weather expected that we’ll keep an eye on. You and your scout should be dressed for walking outdoors for 45 minutes to an hour.
  • We will distribute donation bags in the neighborhood around the Church.
  • On Sun Feb 13 at 3:30 pm we can return to pick up the bags we’ve distributed which neighbors put canned foods in for collection.

We hope your family can participate! Remember, a Scout is Helpful. Collecting food for those in need and creating ways for neighbors to contribute is helpful.

In addition…

On February 13 when we return for Part 2 of Scouting for Food, we will make a presentation about Summer Resident Camp held at Raven Knob. Resident Camp is scheduled for June 15 – 18 and registration is now open! From our email on Jan 28, here are the camping registration links:

Carolina Beach March 2 – 4
Carolina Beach camping registrations are due as soon as possible. It’s a special experience, only offered every other year!
Spring Into Scouting April 1 – 3
Spring into Scouting is a new camping experience this year at Camp Raven Knob. If you attended the Fall camping trip at Raven Knob, expect this to be a similar experience.
New River Camping May 20 – 22
Camping right on the New River Trail, this is a relaxed and very family friendly camping trip in Galax, VA. An easy drive from Winston, it’s a fun trip and we do an easy, slow-paced bike ride too.
Resident Camp June 15 – 18
Be sure to get Resident Camp at Raven Knob on your calendar now – your scout will create lasting memories and work on rank advancement too. If you can’t attend the whole time, you still have the option of attending some of the days.

In Scouting,
Daniel Lobb
